Bandhani the traditional wear









Bandhej known as bandhani is an art of tie-dye textile decorated by plucking the cloth with the fingernails into many tiny bindings that form a figurative design. All this process is highly skilled. Bandhani is also known as Chunri in Rajasthan.     

The main bandhani centers in India are Rajsatha, Gujrat, Punjab and Tamilnadu. But the main and major production centers for bandhani saree are situated in Gujrat and Rajasthan. 

In Rajasthan the main centres are Jaipur, Sikar, Jodhpur, Barmaer, Udaipur, Ajmer and Bikaner where the bandhani is made-up in villages with different patterns and quality. In Gujrat the main centers are Kuch-bhuj, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Pethapur, Mandvi, Jetpur and Rajkot.



Bandhej Saree




Bandhej (bandhani) saree is prepared in different kind of fabrics as in pure Georgette, Siffon, Synthetic, Cotton ,Crape and much more variety of fabrics in the vallages of Rajasthan and Gujrat with approx. 6.5 meter long and 1.2 meter wide cloth.

Gotta Patti , Embroidery and Lace work is also done in sarees to make them much and more beautiful by the hand work art in different colors and styles with matching to occasions and saree price. 




Rajasthani Safa (Pagri) 





Saffa (Pagri) A traditional head wear in India. The Pagri vary in color, style and size according to climate and nature conditions in different parts of country. It also indicates the social status, caste and religion of the person who wear the same. Se-prate colors are used for different occasions. In Rajasthan the bandhani Pagri is known or said SAFFA.

In the villages of Rajasthan and Gujrat we can see the local people wearing a variety of bandhani safa in different styles and colors.
Foreigners specially come from English and European countries are very crazy of safa. They buy them and take to their countries.


Kurtis And Salwar Suit






In the recent years Kurtis and Sal-war suits are also prepared by the bandhani cloth fabris in different colors and styles as according to latest fashion and price range in different fabric materials.

Bandhani Saree, Salwar suits, Saffas and Kurtis are manufactured at large scale business and then distributed as sales all over Indian and even overseas markets.

All this process now has become an industry that provide employment to lacks of people from workers to businessmen with middlemen who are engaged in this work.
